About this file
This is an addendum document providing clarifications and responses to bidder inquiries for two Invitation to Bid (ITB) solicitations issued by the Town of Cheshire, Connecticut for fixtures, furnishings, and equipment at North End Elementary School (ITB 2526-15) and Norton Elementary School (ITB 2526-16). The solicitations seek competitive bids for furniture, telephone equipment, audiovisual equipment, network equipment, and Chromebook charging carts. Bidders may submit bids for individual bid packages or combinations thereof, with sealed bids due by 2:00 PM on March 20, 2026 at Cheshire Town Hall. The Town clarified that site visits are not mandatory, despite language suggesting their importance. For ITB 2526-15, Mitel equipment specifications are located on pages 26 and 44, with bid amounts submitted on page 32; for ITB 2526-16, Mitel specifications appear on pages 26 and 46, with bid amounts on page 32.
The Town reserves the right to award bids by individual package or in combinations that serve its best interests, with price being an important but not sole consideration factor. While bidders may submit substitutions for furniture items, the Town strongly encourages provision of exact manufacturer model numbers, sizes, and colors as specified in the original ITB, which were carefully selected by the design team. For Bid Packages 4 and 5 covering telephone and networking equipment, all bids must include labor for purchase, installation, and configuration. The Town is not seeking to match existing furniture products within its school district. The addendum addresses a critical correction regarding equipment specifications, clarifying that HPE/Aruba network equipment references on page 27 were incorrect and should be disregarded in favor of the Mitel equipment details provided on the specified alternative pages.
