About this file

This document is an Addendum for the Fort Wilkins Historic State Park Water System Upgrades project in Copper Harbor, Michigan, owned by the State of Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB). The addendum provides clarifications on insulation unit prices, changes the West Campground water shut down date from October 17 to October 3, 2022, and attaches the Meeting Attendance Record from the pre-bid conference held on March 29, 2022. The bid due date remains Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

The addendum clarifies the unit prices for 4" and 6" thick foamboard insulation, including additional requirements for trench width and layering of the insulation. It also provides contact information for site visits with Bob Wild and Jared Hyrkas. The West Campground will remain open for semi-modern use (power only) until October 31, 2022.

ADDENDUM NO. 1

DATE: April 1, 2022

PROJECT: Fort Wilkins Historic State Park Water System Upgrades

OWNER: State of Michigan

DTMB FILE #: 751/19152.JBB

BID DATE: Wednesday, April 20, 2022 **THIS ADDENDUM DOES NOT CHANGE THE BID

DATE OR TIME

The following shall be incorporated into the Contract Documents dated 18 MARCH 2022.

GENERAL

The Meeting Attendance Record is attached.

Clarification of insulation unit prices:

4” thick foamboard insulation – 1000 SF add above the cost of 2” foamboard insulation included in the base bid; price per SF for locations where 4” insulation is required. The 4” Styrofoam unit price should include pricing for additional trench width for lines buried less than 5.5’ deep to 4.5’ deep. It should also include pricing for adding 2” thick x 2’ wide (to make the first layer 4’ wide) and 1 layer of 2” thick x 4’ wide insulation over each lineal foot of water lines at depths indicated.

6” thick foamboard insulation – 1000 SF add above the cost of 2” foamboard insulation included in the base bid; price per SF for locations where 6” insulation is required. The 6” Styrofoam unit price should include pricing for additional trench width for lines buried less than 4.5’ deep to 3.5’ deep. It should also include pricing for adding 2” thick x 2’ wide (to make the first layer 4’ wide) and 2 layers of 2” thick x 4’ wide insulation over each lineal foot of water lines at depths indicated. This unit price is NOT an additive unit price on top of the 4” unit price, it stands alone.

If you would like to perform a site visit, this can be coordinated by contacting Bob Wild and Jared Hyrkas.

Bob can be reached at wildr@michigan.gov or 906-289-4400 and Jared can be reached at jared.hyrkas@ohm-advisors.com or 906-281-5126.

It is stated in section 00750 and Appendix II of the project manual and on sheet C-003 of the plans that the West Campground water will be shut down on October 17, 2022, but remain open for semi-modern use (power only) until October 31, 2022. This has now changed to the West Campground water being shut down on October 3, 2022. The West Campground will still remain open for semi-modern use until October 31, 2022.
