About this file

This is Solicitation Addendum No. 1 issued by Beaverton School District 48J in Oregon for ITB 25-0022 Stage Improvements. The addendum modifies the original Invitation to Bid for general contracting services at two middle schools: Meadow Park Middle School and Mountain View Middle School. The addendum provides critical clarifications regarding equipment quantities, specifications for stage extension cables, pre-approved specialty subcontractors, and electrical demolition work. The revised bid closing date is April 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM Pacific Time. Key clarifications include confirmation that separate revised specifications exist for each school, that standard 3-foot power extension cables are acceptable, and that alternative manufacturers and installers may be considered through an approval process outlined in Section 11 61 33, Part 2.1 of the specification book. Additionally, the addendum addresses changes to Meadow Park Elementary Sheet E5.01 regarding electrical distribution system modifications.

The addendum specifies three critical modifications to the Meadow Park scope of work: the omission of a $50,000 allowance for potential electrical distribution system upgrades pending 30-day metering efforts, the elimination of requirements to disconnect and reconnect all existing circuits and conduits to the new electrical distribution system, and the requirement that the existing main electrical distribution system remain in place rather than be demolished. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the Bidder Certification form; failure to do so may result in bid rejection. All other terms and conditions of the original ITB remain in full force and effect, and bidders must be responsive to all requirements of the addendum as if originally stated in the ITB document.

CLARIFICATION/REVISIONS:

QUESTION: Spec 27-41-16: Quantities for called out equipment doesn't match. States "per school 5 times", but this project only consists of 2 schools. What are the quantities needed for the base and alternates?

ANSWER: There is a separate revised spec for Meadow Park and Mountain View. These are the only schools in this bid.

QUESTION: Spec page 120: Is there a specific "power extension cable" being requested?

ANSWER: I do not see a reference to a power extension cable on page 120. If this is referring to the Cables in the 11 61 83 Appendix A schedule on page 150. Those are specified under 11 61 83 2.11 Stage Extension Cables.

QUESTION: Spec page 120: Is the standard 3' length acceptable for the "Two-fer" power extension cable?

ANSWER: Yes

QUESTION: Can you confirm that the specialty contractors listed in the project spec book are the only contractors who can perform that section's work?

ANSWER: Spec Book Page 123, Section 11 61 33, Page 5, Part 2 - Products, 2.1 Pre-Approved Specialty Subcontractors, Item "B" provides a process for possible acceptance of other manufacturers and installers.

QUESTION: Meadow Park E5.01 identifies the demo of an existing MDP and multiple panels. During the pre construction walkthrough we saw that the MDP and panels identified on the drawings are newer and appear to have been replaced recently. Please confirm that demo of the MDP and panels is still a part of this project.

ANSWER: Meadow Park Sheet E5.01:1. Omit "General Sheet Note" B, "Provide allowance of $50,000 to cover any potential costs for upgrading the electrical distribution system pending the 30-day metering efforts per NEC 220.87. 2. Omit "Sheet Keynote 3"."Disconnect and Reconnect all existing circuits, conduits and conductors to the new electrical distribution system, unless noted otherwise." 3.

Existing Main Electrical Distribution system to remain in place.
