About this file
This document is an Ordering Data Sheet for a nine nuclide gamma calibration source. The source must have radioactivity deposited onto a glass fiber filter with specific dimensions, encapsulated between Kapton layers. The total source activity shall be 3.0 microcuries with activity uncertainty not exceeding 5% at the 99% confidence level. The source must meet exemption requirements per 10 CFR 30. A Certificate of Calibration documenting NIST traceability, nuclide activities, and other technical details is required. The source is to be shipped to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & IMF Detachment in San Diego, California. This Ordering Data Sheet is related to a federal pre-solicitation opportunity from the Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command for "NUCLIDE GAMMA CALIBRATION" requirements.

ORDERING DATA SHEET – GENERAL
NOUN NAME: RADIOACTIVE SOURCE
DESCRIPTION:
1 ea Nine nuclide gamma calibration source with radioactivity deposited onto glass fiber filter with 47 mm OD and 41 mm diameter active area encapsulated between two layers of Kapton.
-Nuclide mixture: Cd-109, Co-57, Te-123m, Cr-51, Sn 113, Sr-85, Cs-137, Y-88, Co-60 with nuclide activity ratios selected to provide similar count rates on typical coaxial high-purity germanium detectors.
-Active diameter: 41 mm
-Total source activity shall be 3.0 microcuries (–15%, +0%)
-The vendor must insure that the source activity is not greater than exempt quantity per 10 CFR 30.
-The reported radioactivity uncertainty of each nuclide shall not exceed ± 5% at the 99% confidence level.
-Surface contamination levels on the source and packing materials must be less than 450 pCi/100cm^2.
