About this file
This is a project manual for the Sugar House Park Pond Dredging project, issued by Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Division located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The project involves dredging approximately 13,700 cubic yards of settled material from the Sugar House Park pond, with the contractor responsible for hauling and spreading the material at a designated dump site. The project is scheduled for completion within 60 calendar days between November 2025 and February 2026, with a firm completion deadline of February 28, 2026. The contractor must hold a current S310 – Excavation and Grading Contractor license and will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, providing survey and construction staking, implementing traffic control measures, and protecting existing site amenities during construction.
The project will be managed by the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Division's Planning/Development Section, with the contractor tracking and providing haul tickets to verify excavated material volume. If the actual material volume exceeds the estimated 13,700 cubic yards, the contractor will be required to notify the Project Manager and provide additional excavation and hauling based on pre-submitted unit costs. The County will be responsible for draining the pond prior to construction. The contractor must coordinate all work schedules with the County and ensure proper site management, with a comprehensive one-year warranty period following project completion. Payment for additional work beyond the initial estimate will be processed through a change order system after verification of hauled material volumes.
