About this file
This is an Environmental Policy exhibit document issued by the City of Dallas for a janitorial services contract, establishing the environmental standards and requirements that all contractors must meet. The contract covers a sixty-month Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) service agreement with five consecutive twelve-month pricing periods for janitorial services. The City of Dallas has committed to environmental stewardship and requires all operations to implement programs and procedures that meet or exceed applicable environmental laws and regulations while demonstrating continuous improvement in environmental performance through proactive management and assessments.
The environmental requirements mandate that all contractors utilize low environmental impact cleaning products in accordance with Green Seal Standard GS-37, or products meeting California Code of Regulations maximum allowable VOC levels for appropriate cleaning product categories. Contractors must perform exterior building cleaning and maintenance activities to minimize environmental impact and ensure cleaning and maintenance personnel receive proper training in the use, maintenance, and disposal of chemicals and equipment. All contractors are required to document program results and submit annual reports to the facility manager that include chemical use listings, license/registration logs, safety and incident reviews, and performance summaries. Cleaning and maintenance practices must be reviewed at least annually with the contractor to ensure compliance with all environmental requirements, and site maintenance must follow the Green Site and Building Exterior Maintenance Plan aligned with LEED standards for existing buildings.
