In Service Vessel Sustainment(ISVS)
Established in 2013 to support major recapitalization projects Service Life Extension Project – SLEP Major Maintenance Availability - MMA Area of Responsibility Oversee engineering and design for Hull, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic system and equipment replacement projects Manage procurement and delivery of major equipment systems for production Develop new system logistic support products (configuration data maintenance, sparing analyses, technical library) Active projects:
140’ WTGB Inland Icebreaker SLEP (9 vessels, ~$130M over 5 yrs) 225’ WLB Sea Going Buoy Tender MMA(16 vessels, ~$320M over 9 yrs) POLAR SLEP (start in FY20; $75M over 4 yrs) 270’ MEC SLEP (start in FY22; programmatic cost TBD) 175’ WLM Coastal Buoy Tender MMA (programmatic cost and schedule TBD)
Homeland Security United States Coast Guard 270 SLEP - in approximately 18 months
SSDG and EDG Controllable Pitch Propeller MDE Overhaul
225 WLB MMAand 140 WTGB SLEP are pretty steady state with all items under contract
175 MMA is still relatively far out- Will be looking at:

Homeland Security United States Coast Guard
Hull Structural Monitoring (HSM) Prototype System Installed on WPC 154
G-A-R Display provides guidance for operators to reduce likelihood of damage based on measured hull strains calibrated to the NL FEA
WPB 110 Prototype was installed on CGC FARALLON last week of February 2013.
G-A-R Display Location Back to main brief
Homeland Security United States Coast Guard 3D Laser Scans 3D Laser Scans support structure analysis and survey documentation. These scans are completed in 1 day and cost $12k.
Definitive definition of local and global hull deformations.
Scans completed for CHINCOTEAGUE and JEFFERSON ISLAND
Homeland Security United States Coast Guard Condition Database Use Navy Corrosion Control Information Management System (CCIMS) web-based application to document hull corrosion and structure condition.
ESD NASEC Develop 3D CAD-MAESTRO graphical survey database populated by ESD based on CCIMS.
ESD NASEC to set up and PBPL to populate/maintain databases with survey results.
Actively monitor structural condition for class to facilitate rational maintenance/repair decisions.
