About this file

This document outlines the minimum insurance requirements for preventive maintenance and repair services for a Type II Deionized Water System contracted by Broward County's Water & Wastewater Operations Division in Florida. The project encompasses preventive maintenance and repair services for deionized water systems located at the North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Pompano Beach and the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department in Davie. The contractor must provide labor, travel, and consumables for monthly preventive maintenance deliverables including installation and servicing of reverse osmosis systems, pressure tanks, worker/polisher DI tank systems, and quality control light systems rated at 18.2 Megohm mixed bed capacity. Services also include monitoring and servicing customer-owned equipment such as UV light systems, bacteria filter systems, and booster pumps, with water quality reports delivered every 30 days and 12-inch cation, anion, and mixed bed tanks delivered and installed on an as-needed basis. The solicitation deadline is February 17, 2026, with posting on February 12, 2026. The contract term shall commence upon the date of award and continue for three years with optional renewal for up to two additional one-year terms, not to exceed five years total unless extended by Board action. Award shall be made to the lowest responsive and responsible vendor based on firm pricing submitted on an F.O.B. Destination basis.

The contractor must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, auto liability coverage of $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage, and workers' compensation coverage at statutory limits with employers' liability of $500,000 per accident. Broward County must be named as an additional insured, and the contractor's insurance shall provide primary coverage with a waiver of subrogation in favor of the County. The County must receive 30 days' written notice of cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment cancellation. For claims-made policies, insurance must be maintained for at least three years after contract completion. Additional materials and equipment beyond the annual preventive maintenance service agreement shall be billed according to contract pricing specified in bid line items with net 30-day payment terms. All contractor personnel requiring unescorted access to County facilities must obtain a County-issued contractor identification badge and pass a Level 1 Florida Department of Law Enforcement background check, with badge applications submitted at least two weeks prior to service commencement.
