About this file
Form I is a Texas state procurement document related to preferences for Texas and United States products and services. The form provides a comprehensive checklist of preference categories that a respondent can claim, including preferences for goods and services produced by Texas residents, service-disabled veterans, agricultural products, Texas native vegetation, USA-produced supplies, and products with specific environmental or social characteristics such as being energy-efficient, made from recycled materials, or produced by individuals with disabilities. Respondents can select multiple preference categories by checking the corresponding boxes.
The document requires respondents to certify their status as a Texas Resident Bidder if a Texas address is listed, in accordance with Texas Government Code, Section 2252.001(4). The preferences aim to support local businesses, veterans, environmentally conscious production, and socially responsible economic development. By offering these preferences, the state provides potential competitive advantages to bidders who meet specific criteria, which can include local ownership, production location, product characteristics, or social impact.
