No. Question Response

Reference structural drawing Sheet S.601, Detail 1, which provides for supplemental structural framing that requires the removal of the existing mechanical roof curbs and decking in order to install as designed. Reference architectural drawing Sheet A.301 Detail 3 (typical) which calls for new mechanical roof curbs. Reference mechanical drawing Sheet M160 Keyed Note 135 which states that the existing roof curbs are to remain and be adapted for the new equipment. The mechanical drawing appears to conflict with the structural and architectural. If the existing roof curbs are to be adapted, then it would seem that the supplemental structural framing required by Detail 1 would not be required for new RTUs 1 and 2.

Question: Please clarify the requirement.

The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a new roof curb, unless the existing roof curb can be reused by providing a curb adapter for the new roof top unit.

Reference mechanical drawing Sheet M200, Detail 2 which indicates two combustion air intakes that penetrate the exterior wall at the location of the air intake louver (to be permanently closed.

Question: Are the new combustion air penetrations to be located above the existing air intake louver or through the existing air intake louver?

The new combustion air prenetration is to be located above the existing air intake louver.

Reference mechanical drawing M500, Detail 3 for Roof Flue Penetration. Sheet M150 does not indicate the removal or replacement of the existing flue penetration. Question: Is it the intent to replace the existing Boiler Room flue penetration with a new penetration or to reuse the existing flue penetration? New flue and flashing is required but the existing flue penetrations can be modified and reused.

Question: Please clarify requirements for roof-mounted condensate piping. Are these to be piped to the nearest roof drain? What material is acceptable (e.g., PVC, copper, etc.)?

Yes, pipe to nearest roof drain using copper pipe.
