About this file
This solicitation is for a design-build contract to rehabilitate approximately 10.3 miles of the Colonial Parkway located within Colonial National Historical Park in Virginia. Major work includes exposed aggregate concrete pavement replacement, asphalt pavement rehabilitation, bridge and tunnel rehabilitation, new tunnel lighting system installation, culvert rehabilitation, storm drain system rehabilitation, historic brick wall rehabilitation, steel-backed timber guardrail replacement, signage and pavement marking replacement, and other miscellaneous work.
The solicitation is a two-phase qualifications-based selection process to shortlist up to three highly qualified offerors to receive the request for proposal in Phase Two. Phase One submissions are due by July 12, 2022 and should address key personnel experience, past performance, quality management approach, and project understanding. Evaluation criteria are provided. Award of a firm fixed-price design-build contract is expected in the second quarter of fiscal year 2023. The estimated design and construction cost range is $100-150 million.
