About this file

This document provides details for a design-build solicitation for the North Section Rehabilitation project on the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division of the Federal Highway Administration, in cooperation with the National Park Service, is seeking proposals to reconstruct approximately 7.5 miles of the northern section of the parkway between Spout Run and I-495 including reconfiguring the Route 123 interchange and rehabilitating the Central Intelligence Agency interchange. The work includes asphalt and concrete reconstruction, drainage improvements, guardrails, bridge repairs, utilities, traffic control and other efforts. The project will be split into multiple schedules with an estimated total cost of over $100 million. A two-phase selection process is outlined, with phase one involving a request for qualifications due January 10, 2021 and phase two issuing a request for proposals to shortlisted firms.
