About this file
The document is a Minority/Women/Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) Utilization form from the City of Charlotte's Business Inclusion program. The form is designed to encourage and track the inclusion of City-certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE), Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), and Woman-owned Business Enterprises (WBE) in the city's contracting and procurement processes. Companies are required to submit this form with their proposal, indicating their own certification status and outlining any subcontractors from these designated business categories.
The form requires bidders to detail their outreach efforts to maximize MWSBE inclusion both during the proposal submission and throughout the contract period. Bidders must list potential MWSBE subcontractors, including their names, work descriptions, business type (M/W/S), and City Vendor number. The form also provides space for calculating total utilization percentages for MBE, WBE, SBE, and combined MWSBE participation. The goal is to promote diversity and opportunity for smaller and minority-owned businesses in city contracts by encouraging prime contractors to actively seek and include these businesses in their project teams.
