About this file

This is a surfacing requirements specification document for the UDOT Region 2 Pioneer Trail Improvements project, issued by the Utah Department of Transportation. The project involves the removal and installation of concrete curb and gutter, pedestrian ramps, and sidewalks along Pioneer Trail. The work must be completed by November 20th, 2026. A mandatory virtual prebid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 4th, 2026, at 10:00 am Mountain Time via Google Meet, with attendance required for bid eligibility. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and may be issued as a one-time purchase order.

The specification document establishes project-specific surfacing requirements for hot mix asphalt and drainage pipe installation. Hot mix asphalt requirements include PG 64-34 asphalt with specified compaction levels (N initial 7, N design 75, N final 115) and CSS-1 tack coat application. Drainage pipe requirements reference UDOT Standard Specification 02610 and mandate ductile iron pipe meeting ANSI/AWWA standards C150/A21.50-21, C151/A21.51-17, and C600-17, with specifications for pipe thickness class and leak-resistant joints meeting AASHTO R 82 or equivalent standards. The awarded contractor must submit a performance and payment bond upon contract award.
