Project 515-20-101 – Renovate Common Areas, Various Buildings – Battle Creek VAMC
1. Can you define the scope of the required fire suppression work? We note answers to RFIs #51, #52 & #53 which would indicate that there is no fire suppression work although there is a Fire Suppression Specification, and we believe that some fire suppression head work might be experienced in the areas of the new Armstrong Woodworks Grilles on all three (3) floors of Building #2. Fire heads may need to be adjusted, but this is not expected.
2. The general plumbing and HVAC requirements are indicated on the various Architectural Drawings. Will there be Plumbing and HVAC Drawings issued showing the required new, relocated and existing requirements? Presently there is insufficient information indicating the mechanical trades requirements.
a. HVAC: There will be reinstalling of exhaust/return air diffuser and supply diffuser. They are called out in reflected ceiling plans.
b. Plumbing: There will be minimal plumbing, mainly replacing drinking fountains. The current drawings indicate the plumbing and HVAC work to be completed. No additional drawings will be provided.
3. There is some contradiction in the hardware specification in regards to the finish required. The hardware sets are written in 606 dull brass, the specification indicates 612 dull bronze. Please clarify the finish required. VA will use 612 dull bronze (US10).
