About this file
This PowerPoint presentation outlines standards for labeling telecommunications cables and outlets at federal facilities. It specifies the naming conventions and numbering schemes to be used for identifying patch panels, telecommunications racks, outlet ports, copper and fiber optic cables, termination locations, and outside plant cables. Standards are provided for labeling patch panels, racks, outlet ports, cable identification, fiber strand counts, premises and outside plant cables. Jacks are to be arranged clockwise and numbered around each room. Cable labeling adheres to the TIA/EIA 606 telecommunications standard.
The related federal contract solicitation seeks proposals to renovate Building 60 at an unspecified Air Force Special Operations Command facility. Interested offerors should attend the mandatory site visit on 9 July at 1:00PM MDT to learn more about the requirement. The solicitation and attached documents provide additional details on the scope of work.
