About this file
This is an Appendix E certification document for the Iran Contracting Act issued by the Elk Grove Unified School District in Sacramento County, California for Bid #828-25/26 regarding Food Products and Commodity Processed Potatoes. The document outlines compliance requirements for vendors prior to bidding on, submitting proposals for, or executing contracts with the State of California for goods or services valued at $1,000,000 or more. Bidders must submit sealed bids no later than March 13, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. PST through the EGUSD Online Bonfire Procurement Portal. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids received in whole or in part, to waive any irregularities, and to be the sole judge of the suitability of products and services offered.
Vendors are required to comply with Public Contract Code sections 2202-2208 by certifying either that they are not on the current list of persons engaged in investment activities in Iran created by the California Department of General Services, or by demonstrating they have obtained an exemption from the certification requirement on a case-by-case basis. California law establishes significant penalties for false certifications, including civil penalties equal to the greater of $250,000 or twice the contract amount, contract termination, and three-year ineligibility to bid on future contracts. The certification document provides two options for vendor compliance: Option #1 requires certification that the vendor is not engaged in prohibited investment activities in Iran, while Option #2 allows vendors to demonstrate exemption approval if previously granted by the public entity.
