Allowance 01 - XL Pipe Replacement for the JCK, and Allowance 02 – JCK and Metcalf Floor
Prep Area.
Question/RFI Answer
To confirm the existing Fire Alarm system at
Metcalfe is an EST system as indicated on FA-
000.
Metcalfe Fire Alarm System is an EST 3 system.
Please confirm if there are any isolation valves for MEPFP systems to isolate the floors we are working on from the rest of the building.
JCK: For the fire protection system there is a main control valve for each floor located in the NW stairwell. There are hot/cold water shut off valves in the men's and women's washrooms, serving the bathrooms. Kitchen/pantry water lines would need to be traced as some are served from the floor below or floor above. There is no HVAC isolation by floor. The air handlers at JCK all serve multiple floors.
Metcalfe: Common area restrooms and gear rooms should remain operational, but all of the utilities can be isolated as necessary.
Please confirm the material of the signage along with the sizes of the signs. The specs were a little confusing and I would like some clarification.
Signage documentation is not yet complete and will be further clarified in final document issuance.
Signage sizes (drawn full size) are correct on drawings. Spec requires an update to match.
General design intent is that all signage occuring in public corridors will be brushed stainless steel mounted to bar stock supports and mechanically fastened to wall surface. Room numbers to be black acrylic text inset into an etched pocket; room names are screened printed polyurethane enamel paint. Interior signs to be Satin Aluminum Polymer with Black Raised Copy to be applied with tape adhesive at walls/glass and benching stations, mounting pins at work stations (fabric panels). At glass fronts include matching blank back panels.
All signs to include Grade II Braille room numbers.
