About this file
This document is a Supplemental Statement of Work for the FHWA Renovations project, containing specification and design documentation for roller window shades and acoustic wall treatments.
The solicitation number is 47PD5526Q0051, dated October 2, 2026. The supplemental documents include three primary components: (1) Roller Shade Specifications per AIA MasterSpec Section 122413, covering manually and motor-operated roller shades for standard windows and skylights with detailed product requirements for operating mechanisms, rollers, mounting hardware, shadebands, and installation accessories; (2) Jogged Wall Detail showing structural framing coordination with new walls, ducts, and suspended ceilings; and (3) STC 45 Wall Detail specifications for acoustic partitions. The roller shade specification designates Draper Inc. as the basis-of-design product with comparable alternatives from manufacturers including BTX Window Automation, Hunter Douglas Contract, Lutron Electronics, MechoShade Systems, and others. Shadeband materials must comply with NFPA 701 flame-resistance requirements and include either light-filtering or light-blocking fabric options. The STC 45 wall assembly utilizes 1/8" Wall Blokker EVA sound membrane (Commercial Acoustics product) fastened to metal studs at 16" on-center with R-13 batt insulation, 5/8" Type X gypsum board each side, and 20-gauge metal studs, achieving STC 49 with fiberglass infill or STC 52 with 6-inch cavity depth. Wall Blokker installation requires fastening every 12" horizontally along top plates and every 36" vertically along stud centers, with seam sealing, electrical box cutouts, and non-hardening caulk application per detailed procedures. All products require product data submittals, shop drawings, samples for verification, and demonstration of proper operation and maintenance prior to substantial completion.
