To All Prospective Offerors:
This document provides the answers to the requested information. Please review and view the one additional attachment (Model Subcontracting Plan).
The RFI Questions and Answers are as follows:
1. Is there an actual cab design or are we to estimate to match the existing freight type design?
ANSWER: There is no actual cab design. As part of design development (30% submission), the contractor will be responsible to provide elevator modernization approach and features, upgrade concepts, design renderings, material samples, and preliminary drawings such that the GSA can provide feedback and concurrence with the contractor’s approach prior to subsequent design submissions (75%, 90% & Final Construction Set) and construction. Also, refer to Attachment 3 and P100 for general requirements which may affect cab functionality and design to include but not limited to wall protection pads, lighting and signage. At a minimum, new cab appearance shall be similar to existing cab, and cab functionality shall meet the objectives of the SOW.
2. Are we required to paint all existing hatch door entrances and hatch doors (Painting and finishing of the hoistway entrances and doors mentioned in the Painting and Finishing section of Attachment #3)?
ANSWER: In accordance with the SOW "Equipment identified by the GSA to be reused shall be refurbished, patched, repaired, modified and/or adjusted to meet the intent of the modernization.
Reused components shall be thoroughly cleaned and repainted as needed to provide a new finish."
Please acknowledge this amendment when submitting your proposal.
