About this file
This document is a Report of Soil Borings prepared by Environmental & Geotechnical Specialists, Inc. (EGS) for the Escambia-Santa Rosa Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) and ECRC Office Facility project located in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida. The report documents soil testing conducted in November 2023 across multiple site locations including the parking lot, stormwater management facilities, RTMC and ECRC building, CCTV poles, chiller/electrical yard, water tanks, and retaining walls. The borings were drilled using hand auger and automatic hammer methods, with testing performed to depths ranging from 105 to 250 feet.
The soil analysis reveals multiple geological strata with varying characteristics, including medium dense brown to gray silty fine sand, orange and gray clayey fine sand, and organic materials. The testing provides detailed information about soil composition, moisture content, plasticity index, and AASHTO group classifications. Environmental classification notes indicate an extremely aggressive environment for steel and concrete. The professional engineering report is sealed and signed by Kevin T. Sweeney, a licensed professional engineer, and is part of the documentation for the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (FL-AL TPO) project to construct a new 19,940 square foot transportation management center.
