About this file
This document outlines safety oversight requirements for a tower removal project at Pueblo Chemical Depot in Colorado. Argonne National Laboratory will subcontract the removal of five on-post meteorological towers and a security camera tower. The subcontractor must meet various federal, state, local and site-specific safety regulations. Argonne and Department of Energy personnel will oversee safety compliance. Tasks include removing instrumentation from towers; excavating tower foundations; electrical disconnection; rigging, lifting and dismantling towers; and backfilling excavated areas. A Department of Energy solicitation is also provided for the tower removal work at the Pueblo site.
