91. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Please clarify the crash rating of the retractable bollards shown behind the new gate in the NW corner of sheet CS-102. A M30 rating is referenced on the sheet, but drawing detail shown on sheet CS-202 references a M50 rated retractable bollard.

Bollards at this location are to be M30. Reference sheet CS102 and AS002 for correct bollard ratings. Product details are to be used as basis of design. An approved equal would be acceptable.

92. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Is there an existing double swing gate and fence system in the NW entranceway from Britannia that the new fence will need to be integrated into?

Existing double swing gate and portion of fence as indicated on plan to be demoed. New sliding gate and fence to be integrated into existing system.

Keynotes added on sheets AS001 and AS002 for clarification as part of Addendum 03.

93. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Does the new fence system need to be crash rated to meet the rating of the adjacent retractable bollards?

New fence system does not need to be crash rated if retractable bollards are crash rated. Fences are ornamental metal.

94. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Would an automated crash rated slide gate be acceptable in lieu of the retractable bollards behind the non-rated slide gate?

VA had previously requested the retractable bollards in lieu of anti-ram fence. Can provide cost comparison for anti-ram fencing that meets VA PSRDM requirements without retractable bollards.

95. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Are the existing fence and gates on the north side of Britannia to remain?

Refer to sheets AS001 and AS002. Keynotes added on sheets and existing and new fencing line types edited in legend for clarification as part of Addendum 03.

Yes, reference spec 11 12 00 Parking Control Equipment. Also, Addendum 3 includes product sheet as basis of design.

97. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Fixed bollards shown on CS-102 in the NE corner of the parking lot are shown as M10 rated. The M10 rating does not match the ASTM rating system & the bollard detail referenced on CS-202 shows M30 rated bollards. Please clarify these bollards crash rating.

Details on CS-202 should be used as basis of design. Ref Civil sheet CS-102 and Architectural sheet AS002 for correct bollard rating. In lieu of all M10 bollards, an ASTM F2656 FS30 will suffice as M10 will need to be custom made.

98. 06/15/2023 06/16/2023 Would it be acceptable to move fixed bollard array closer to the building to eliminate gaps in crash rated bollards while still allowing for access to the sidewalk from ADA parking spots?

PSRDM requires 5’-0” standoff from building and no more than 48” between barriers. Bollards can be moved if they still meet this requirement.
