i. 085200/2.5/A Primed Exterior

ii. 085200/2.5/B Clad Exterior

Factory finished, aluminum clad, exterior window units are preferred, however, factory primed and field finished exterior window units may be acceptable depending on availability of aluminum clad windows. Factory primed units must be finished in accordance with Specification 09 91 00 Painting.

14 8/12/2022 8/23/2022 Please clarify glazing requirements,

a. ASTM1886/1996 would indicate a laminated glass

b. 085200/2.4 seems to indicate multiple options

c. 085653 Blast Resistant windows

Insulated blast resistant glazing is required at exterior window locations. Insulated glazing is required at interior window locations for acoustical purposes. Glass type must comply with the indicated types shown on the drawings.

PASS Security System is one of the brand name items for which the VA is not able to accept equal or alternate items (see solicitation attachment 6 - Brand Name Justification - St Louis JB). Their scope/price should be included in all bids.

Door Lock Power Supplies and door position switches included in the following Div. 8 hardware sets must be provided by PASS Security for complete compatibility with the current system:

24-ET-110 General Notes F – Elevator Cab Card Reader

PASS is to provide one Elevator Interface Junction Box (EIJB) in the Elevator Machine Room with individual relays for each controlled floor. PASS contacts are rated to switch up to 120VAC at 5A. If the elevator requires loads to be switched in excess of 120VAC at 5A, then the Elevator Contractor must provide additional interface devices. PASS EIJB is equipped with a bypass switch which will completely remove any control of the Elevator Cab by the Access Control system. Electrical Contractor to provide an empty raceway between the EIJB and the Elevator Machine Equipment (EME) ready for the Elevator Contractor to install their wiring and terminate. PASS expects that the Elevator Contractor will install the card reader in the Cab and provide wiring in the traveling cable per controlled Cab for the card reader. This wiring will be furnished completely by the Elevator Contractor between the reader and the EME, and this cable will be equivalent to one 8C#20 shielded cable. The cable should be rated for Elevator Applications. PASS always recommends spare cables when possible. Please note that ALL costs associated with the Elevator Contractor will be excluded from PASS’ scope. Please refer to Specification Section 14 24 12 for what is to be provided by the Elevator Contractor. All bidders must bid the same. Comply as noted on drawing.
