About this file

This is Amendment 0002 to RFQ 36C26326Q0965, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 23 in Coralville, Iowa, effective August 9, 2026. The amendment addresses industry questions regarding the installation schedule for dental equipment at a VA facility.

The primary clarification concerns the delivery and installation of 18 dental operatory chairs over a five-month period (four chairs per month for three months, then three chairs for two months). The VA confirmed that it is not feasible to complete all installations in a single weekend due to the clinic's continuous patient schedule and the necessity to maintain operational capacity. Each operatory requires shutdown for up to one and a half weeks to accommodate installation and water testing. While the VA indicated a preference for single delivery with phased installation, storage space availability cannot be confirmed. Offerors are instructed to quote installation as described in the Statement of Work and provide two separate pricing scenarios: one for all equipment delivered simultaneously with phased installation, and one for equipment delivered as needed for each subsequent installation. No other changes were made to the RFQ, and offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the specified deadline.

RFQ 36C26326Q0965 Amendment 0002 Questions and Answers.

The purpose of this RFQ Amendment 0002 is to answer questions submitted by industry.

Below is the Question and the Answer. The answer is in RED font.

1. The installation and shipping team are trying to understand the proposed installation schedule:

Are you requesting 5 delivery’s and 5 separate installations to be completed after hours? Blanketwrap service is that the chairs are assembled at the factory and delivered inside the room by the shipping company. With five separate deliveries along with five separate installations, the cost will go up significantly. Since the project is being requested after hours, all 18 operatories can be done via one weekend providing a significant savings to the government.

Installation Schedule:

Four (4) chairs per month for three (3) months Three (3) chairs for two (2) months

Answer: The Dental Clinic is very busy; the patient schedule is filled with appointments months into the future. Each operatory will be shut down for up to a week or week and a half to accommodate installation of the new equipment and the necessary water testing. In order to maintain patient volume, a certain number of operatories must stay open and functional. As a result, the VA can only shut down so many operatories at a time. It is not possible to complete all 18 operatories in one weekend.

It would be preferrable to have all of the equipment delivered at one time and have it stored on campus while the installations take place. However, we cannot confirm at this time that space will be available for storage to use in that manner.

Offerors, please do this:

Installation: Please quote the installation as it is described in the SOW.

Delivery: Please provide pricing for both scenarios if your delivery pricing would be different for each scenario. Please provide:

1) Pricing for all of the equipment to be delivered at one time, with installation performed in phases according to the SOW, and provide;

2) Pricing for equipment to be delivered as it is needed for the next installation as it is described in the SOW.

Thank you for the question.
