Summary of Nurse Call System Questions and Answers (36C26326Q0435-0003)
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a VA nurse call system procurement solicitation 36C26326Q0435. The solicitation is an Open Market procurement under FAR 12, not a GSA Schedule (FAR 8) procurement. All shaded areas in the provided floor plans represent clinical rooms and patient exam spaces requiring nurse call system connections; bidders should assume each shaded room will require nurse call buttons at minimum and code blue functionality at maximum due to anticipated room designation changes from ongoing construction projects. The Government will provide the VA TIL 27 52 23 nurse call code blue specification document and will extend the solicitation due date. Licensing costs, if required for system operation, must be included in the contractor's proposed price with no separate Government reimbursement. More detailed drawings and CAD files will not be provided; the shaded drawings are considered sufficient for bidding purposes.
Key technical and compliance requirements include: CAT-6A cabling is required; above-ceiling work is mandatory; conduit requirements will be based on VA standards and applicable fire codes, with existing pathways acceptable where compliant; ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment), HEPA carts, fire stopping, and core drilling are required as specified; and proposed systems must be compatible with the current Vocera system if brand-name-or-equal products are offered. Warranty periods, device specifications, and phasing/installation schedules will be detailed in the Statement of Work and specifications. Bidders must meet BAA (Buy American Act) compliance. Material quantity estimates provided are estimates only and should be used as such. The Government requires clarification on the definition of "Software Assurance" before determining its applicability, and self-service repair training is not required.
