Questions and Answers
1. Q: MBH capacity is quite different between what is scheduled for CU-2 (697.04 MBH/56-tons) and the CC-2 DX coil (570.32 MBH/47.5-tons). Would it be acceptable if we were to provide a nominal 50-ton condensing unit that has a 576 MBH capacity with elevation correction included? See attached submittal.
A: After reviewing the provided York submittal package, the nominal 50-ton condensing unit with elevation correction is NOT acceptable. The total gross capacity of the unit (576.3 MBH) is not adequate. A selection should be made to match what has been scheduled on drawing M-102 (679 MBH).
2. Q: The CC-2 coil schedule has a note that calls out a Trane CU50 coil or Engineer Approved Equivalent. I would like to request Greenheck as an equivalent – see attached submittal.
A: The provided Greenheck coil submittal is an acceptable equivalent for CC-2.
3. Q: AHU S-1 fan motor, is it to be replaced with a new motor? If so, what is the HP & V/Ph of the motor. If not, what is the existing motor HP & V/Ph, will need to know for the new VFD to be provided.
A: AHU S-1 fan motor is to be removed and replaced.
Please issue the following addendum to drawing M-102:
Add Key Note 7 calling to SF-1 motor in detail D5 “S-1 ROOF AND PENTHOUSE PLAN”.
Key Note 7 should read: “REMOVE AND REPLACE EXISTING 7.5 HP 2-SPEED MOTOR WITH 10 HP 208 VOLT 3 PHASE MOTOR. CONNECT 10 HP MOTOR TO VFD.”
The New 10 HP motor will have the same voltage and phase as the Existing motor. The requested Existing motor information is as follows:
Horsepower: 7.5 HP Volts: 208 V Phase: 3
4. Q: I was looking at the Fort Meade HVAC job that is out in CIC and do not see any drawings for the electrical, just the mechanical? Is the electrical a separate bid or not?
A: There are no separate drawings for the Electrical portion. The electrical work needed should be clear with the Drawings and Specifications. If there are electrical questions that need answering please submit, in writing.
