About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ 36C26226Q0482, consisting of two clarification questions regarding additional software requirements related to shipment processing and tracking functionality.
The document addresses two key inquiries about the specification requirements. The first question asks whether the single scan process referenced in the specification involves scanning an order number to access a database for retrieving recipient address information for parcel shipping, and requests details on the database structure. The second question inquires whether VistA users can access shipment tracking information and whether the VA's database permits writing back shipment data such as shipping date, shipping cost, and tracking number, along with clarification on whether this is the same database used for retrieving order and shipping information. Both questions receive identical answers: the requirements apply exclusively to UPS and Endicia shipments and do not apply to the regular mail meter functionality.

RFQ 36C26226Q0482 – QUESTIONS
As it pertains to the Additional Software Requirements:
1. The specification asks for a single scan process, is it intended that there will be scanning of an “order number” which will access your database to retrieve the recipients address information to be used for shipping the parcel? If so, what is the database structure?
A: This requirement only applies to UPS and Endicia shipments. It does not apply to the regular mail meter.
2. The specification asks for VistA users to be able to access shipment tracking information, will the VA’s database allow us to write back shipment information such as shipping date, shipping cost, tracking number, etc.? If so, is this the same database that we would be retrieving the order/shipping information?
A: This requirement only applies to UPS and Endicia shipments. It does not apply to the regular mail meter.
