REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) 612-400 Primary Care

RFI #1

There is no Nurse Call shown on the drawings. Would you like West-Com to provide a design/build for the new space. Facility will need to provide network connection from new space to existing West-Com switch in Building 650 Security office.

VA’s Response: No nurse call is required for the project.

RFI #2

Ceiling Mounted Patient Lift System specification 11 73 00 – 3 states a lifting capacity of 600lbs.

Is a lifting capacity of 550lbs acceptable?

VA’s Response: The specifications states lifting capacity requirement of 600 lbs, lifting capacity requires 600 lbs. or better.

RFI #3

Specification Section 02 41 00 – Demolition, Part 3.1-C states: “The removal of hazardous material shall be referred to Hazardous Materials specifications”. Hazardous Material

Specifications or a HAZMAT Survey were not located in the Specifications. Will the VA provide the HAZMAT Survey for any assemblies or materials scheduled for demolition? If not, will the

VA require the Contractor to perform hazardous material testing for any assemblies or materials scheduled for demolition?

VA’s Response: See attached Geotech Report.

RFI #4

In addition to the question concerning the Demo specs, I also received an RFI from D Square concerning spec 23 21 13, Hydronic Piping. The specs only has page 1 of 27 for spec 23 21

13. I would amend the solicitation to include spec 23 21 13, but there are many instances where the specs require Engineering review (anything within the // // needs to reviewed by

Engineering).

VA’s Response: See attached completed 23 21 13 Hydronic Piping spec section. It contains 23 pages.

RFI #5

The wall types depicted on Sheet AS8.1A, including the types depicted with multiple GWB layers, are not called out for all of the walls depicted on the floor plans, specifically on sheets

AS1.2, AS1.2A,1, & AS1.2A2. In order the estimate the costs for this project, the Contractor must understand the all of the wall types to be constructed. Will the VA provide revised drawings that correctly identify all wall types on the floor plans?

VA’s Response: See attached sheets AS1.2, AS1.2A, and AS1.2A2 with wall types identified.

RFI #6

There is no Nurse Call shown on the drawings. Would you like West-Com to provide a design/build for the new space. Facility will need to provide network connection from new space to existing West-Com switch in Building 650 Security office. (sent from West-Com).

VA’s Response: The subject requirement is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the entire requirement. The VA will not accept bids on individual requirements. Note: I have forwarded your RFI to the appropriate office for future consideration.

RFI #7

Please confirm the data type to be installed within the building?

VA’s Response: CAT 6A data is required to be installed for data cabling in the building.

RFI #8

My name is Hayes Gorecki and my team has done a number of projects with the VA. What is the timeline of the project in the subject line? If it has not been awarded I would be interested in providing a bid for a number of systems that Johnson Controls can provide. Any information on this one helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

VA’s Response: The subject requirement is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the entire requirement. The VA will not accept bids on individual requirements.

RFI #9

I just read through the RFI responses regarding security systems and they have raised additional questions. Answer to multiple RFIs on what system is utilized for video security was V5

Systems. Well, I am familiar with that company and V5 provides only OUTDOOR camera systems, not indoor systems. And it would not be the head-end software management system.

Second, the answer to the question of identifying the access control manufacturer had the response of Stanley readers. But Stanley does not manufacture readers. It is an integrator and uses the same variety of manufacturers that we use for readers and control boards. Milestone for video security management (software), and Software House (our JCI product) for access control readers. Could these possibly be the same standards for your existing facility?

Dynamics are used and use the CCure 9000 system software.
