About this file

This document contains answers to questions regarding a solicitation for renovations to space for a Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (SARRTP) Impact at a Veterans Affairs medical center. The questions and answers clarify details of the scope of work such as which parties are responsible for installing specific items like carpeting, infection control barriers, and doors. Specifically, the document confirms that the contractor is responsible for installing zipper doors as identified in the drawings, and that the total number of doors to be installed is four rather than three as indicated in the scope of work but four as shown in the drawings. The solicitation number and opportunity type are provided for the federal contract for the renovations.

1) A subcontractor of mine was told by one of my competitors that the VA will demo the carpet in the rooms on the 1st floor and 4th floor even though the SOW and drawings direct us to demo the carpet. Do you know if this is true?

See SOW Phase 1, Paragraph 4.a.

2) I just want to clarify that the VA Stations will install the infectious control barrier in the hallways as stated in SOW Phase 1 item 1b. The drawing 1.1b states “Install infection control barrier as shown”. I’m assuming this is what the Stations will install. Is this correct?

See SOW Phase 1, Paragraph 1.b

3) The contractor is responsible for installing the zipper doors as identified in drawings 2.1a. Is this correct?

See SOW Phase 2, Paragraph 1.a.

4) In the SOW phase 1 item 2b. states install 3 doors in room 4404 and 4403. The drawings only show 2 doors in 4404 and 4403. The third door appears to be in room 4402. The SOW makes it sound like there is a total of 4 doors but the drawings show 3. Is it 3 or 4 doors?

4 Doors, See drawings Sheet 1 note 1.2.b and Sheet 2 note 1.2.b
