RFI #2

1. Should bidders include the costs associated with Submittal Exchange in Proposal There is no need to price this as part of the contract. This will be covered otherwise.

2. Please provide area that will be provided for contractor storage. If onsite storage is not available, should bidders include the costs associated with offsite storage?

On site storage will not be available.

3. Please provide location for contractor field office. If onsite location is unavailable, should bidders include the costs associated with offsite field office? No on-site office will be available except the job site itself.

4. Plan set issued online is missing all electrical, mechanical & fire protection drawings. Please provide.

Drawings have been provided by A/E

5. Does the project site contain existing asbestos flooring mastic? Demolition Plan Note 19 on Sheet AD101 calls for asbestos to be mitigated per specification section 02.82.13-19. This spec section is not in the current issue spec book.

See attached spec section

6. Infection Control Plan Note 3 on GI105 calls for temporary walls to be installed per detail 2/GI100. This plan sheet is not on the index. This is also the case with notes 1 & 2

All references to Temporary Control and Smoke Barrier should reference details 2, 3, and 4 on sheet GI103. All information required is contained in those details.

7. Section 11 40 21 does not list acceptable manufacturers for the new food service equipment.

Please provide acceptable manufacturers.

According to Equipment Floor Plan AQ101 – Equipment Schedule all equipment is either existing to be relocated or listed as Government Supplied / Contractor Installed. Coordination with the Food Services and their equipment supplier will be required during construction.

8. Drawings GI103-GI107 Infection Control General Note C states the project shall be completed in three (3) phases. However, the referenced sheets also include the following Phasing Schedule diagram [of 5+ phases]:

General Note Letter C: Should read as follows:

PHASING OF THE PROJECT IS CRITICAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROJECT.

THE INTENT IS TO COMPLETE ALL CONSTRUCTION WHILE THE CANTEEN

REMAINS FUNCTIONAL FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD.

THE PROJECT AS SHOWN IS INTENDED TO BE COMPLETED IN FIVE (5) PHASES.

FINAL PHASING OF THE PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETELY COORDINATED

BETWEEN THE CONTRACTOR AND THE COR ON SITE.

a. The phasing requirements are not clear. Please advise accordingly.

b. Looking at the above Phasing Schedule diagram, is Phase 4 to be performed during nights and weekends only? If yes, the areas shown on Drawing GI106 state, “This area of floor tile to be abated during allowed 7-day shut down as Phase 4.” This would be contradictory. Please advise accordingly.

As stated the abatement of the area of phase 4 is to be accomplished during a 7 day shut down of the area. And then the area of phase 4 to be reopened so the canteen may function. The remainder of the work (mostly flooring ceiling, and finish work) to be accomplished either during the 7 day shut down, or nights and weekends.

c. Spec 00 01 15 identifies Drawing GI100 Phasing Plan/Infection Control Plan;

however, this drawing was not provided and not listed on the drawing Sheet List. Please provide the referenced drawing. If GI100 is not available, please provide drawing that shows the overall phasing plan. All phases shown on one

(1) drawing sheet would aid in understanding the phasing requirements.

Infection Control and phasing are accomplished with sheets GI103-GI107 the referenced to GI100 is incorrect and should reference GI103-GI107 only.

Due to overlapping square footage for infection control and phasing placing al phases on a single plan is overlapped and confusing, this is the reason for the separate plans to show independent individual phases.

9. Drawings GI103-GI107 Infection Control General Note A states, “Refer to list of required infection control precautions outlined by class in Spec 01 01 10 and additional information.” This spec section was not provided and not listed on the Spec Table of Contents (TOC). Please provide referenced spec section.

Note should read as follows:

Refer to list of required infection control precautions outlined by class in Specification Section 01 35 26 and additional information.”

10. Drawings GI103-GI107 Infection Control General Note E states, “…Contractor shall provide drawing to COR and Patient Safety/Infection Control Representative once ICRA protocols and plan is approved.” Does the referenced drawing need to be stamped by a
