The amendment extends the deadline for offer submissions to July 28, 2020 at 3:30pm MDT. It also extends the deadline for questions to July 15, 2020 at 3:30pm. The amendment answers various questions from a vendor regarding technical requirements, including details on network infrastructure, fiber runs, wireless access point locations, wayfinding needs, and construction materials. CONTINUATION PAGE

1. Will the “closet (leaf)” switches that connect the APs be connected to a “core (spine)” switch?

a. This will be at the up to the network designer

2. Will there be two “core” switches for redundancy?

a. This would be a best practice, but up to the network designer

3. Will the connections from the closet switches to the core be 10Gbps?

a. This would be the expectation yes

4. Is there fiber connecting these closet locations to the core?

a. Any fiber installed will be home run to either the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) or to the main Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) in building 1 Room GB36

5. Is that fiber SMF? Yes

6. Is that fiber MMF? No

7. If the fiber is MMF? What type of fiber is it? OM1 – OM4 generally Single mode only

8. Which buildings require fiber between them?

a. Every building will require fiber. Some SM fiber exists in building, but you should expect to run fiber to every location. This fiber will be 24 strand minimum

9. Is there power to light poles in parking areas where outdoor APs could be located? Are the lights on timers? No power will need to be pulled from the lighting system at any given location

10. Are closets delineated on plans that will have switches are required to uplink all the APs? Can mechanical rooms be utilized?

a. During the walkthrough closets will be designated, mechanical and electrical rooms could be used if needed. This should not however be the case.

11. Can the VA confirm their definition of Wayfinding? Our understanding, and how other VISNs have done it, is to wayfind to hospital departments as opposed to individual rooms.

a. Way finding should be to a given clinic location not a specific room unless a room is being used specifically for check-ins

12. Our understanding is that the main hospital building would have indoor navigation/wayfinding with pathways to find other buildings within the campus. Please confirm.

a. Yes, way finding must also work for other buildings on property that are not directly connect to the main hospital

13. What are the general construction materials used for?

a. Exterior Walls (i.e. CMU, Concrete, Brick, etc.)

b. Interior Walls (i.e. CMU, Wood/Drywall, etc.)

c. Stairwells/Elevator Shafts (i.e. CMU, Concrete, Brick, etc.)

i. Typical building construction

14. What is the anticipated usage density of each building?

a. This is hard to predict; any inpatient areas will have enough density to ensure that continuous and consistent connections for every patient. Waiting rooms and inpatient rooms will require the heaviest density. All non-patient areas will require a much lower density.

b. How many anticipated users per building?

i. This number will vary on a regular basis. We can use the number of rooms as a baseline for the purposes of through put density

15. Are there any areas that are inaccessible, unable to support AP placement, or otherwise not required to support Guest Wifi?

a. This could be addressed on a case by case basis. For the most part everywhere WIFI is needed access should be possible.

16. Mechanical Spaces, Elevator Shafts, Stairwells, Private (Non-Guest Access) Spaces, etc.

a. Will Guest Wifi need to be supported in bathroom areas? Not specifically.

b. There are some mechanical spaces that will require WIFI

17. Request documentation showing existing power/data connection points in outdoor parking spaces. For outdoor spaces, will exterior wall mounted APs be considered?

a. The information requested will take some time to put together. We can view the area during walk-through.

b. External wall mounted AP’s can be used as long as the required coverage is met

18. Can the general locations of the kiosks be identified? Yes. A general description is the two main entrances to building 1 (North end ground floor, South end 1st floor). One in the Tunnel between building 1&8 (final locations to be decided). One at the entrance of building 4 and one at the entrance of building 16.

19. Are there any buildings with inconsistent floor-to-floor heights? For the main building no. There are locations where the roof is much higher. Building 9 and building 6 are two such locations.

a. i.e. auditoriums, split-level buildings, conference areas, etc.

20. It is understood that the coverage in the parking areas will be BLE, without the need for full Wifi Coverage. However, there is a Patient RV Park in one of the parking lots. Will we be wanting full Guest Wifi Access at these locations, or just BLE wayfinding? Full WIFI needs to be available in the parking structure and in all outdoor waiting and break areas

21. Will you be wanting BLE wayfinding accessible from the roadways in addition to the parking lots? Will there be existing conduit for any building to building fiber runs?

a. No BLE required from roadways

b. Conduit exists from building to building the available space in the conduit could be a challange

22. Will there be a requirement for HEPA carts in any areas other than sterile areas? Yes

23. Will there be a requirement for conduit in any areas? This will be as needed on a case by case basis

24. Can the Q&A response date be moved to 7/15/2020 to allow time for questions to be developed after the site visit on the 14th? This will be up to the Contracting Officer to decide.
