1. Please Confirm the VA will move the existing AV equipment.
1. No, contractor can relocate the rack of equipment inside the room as necessary.
2. Please confirm all notations in red are NIC.
1. Which notations?
3. Please confirm that the fan coil unit power requirement must be 3Phase, 15A, 480V.
1. No, FCU can be also be single phase 120V or three phase 208V
4. Please provide chill water Pipe routing and tie-in location.
1. Routing to be determined by contractor. Tie-in location as shown during site visit.
5. Please provide condensate drain location.
1. Pick a floor drain in Heating Equipment Room 01-SV-B35-M1
6. Please provide chilled water piping and sizing.
1. New pipe sizing is dependent on flow required. Flow required is dependent on FCU coil selected by contractor. Existing pipe sizing is shown on drawings.
7. Would the Government be willing to extend the proposal due date, due to the fact the suppliers will not be able to turn around equipment pricing by Friday October 12th?
1. Yes, the new solicitation closing date will be 10/19/2018 at 1:00 PM MT.
8. Would the government be able to schedule another site visit due to the complexity of the scope, as the as-builts are not very clear as to what the new scope of work is?
1. Yes.
9. Is it acceptable to run the new electrical circuit in the service corridor and then penetrate vertically into the floor above?
1. Yes.
10. Is it acceptable to run the new chilled water lines in the service corridor if that is found to be advantageous?
1. Yes.
11. The drawings’ resolution is poor making them difficult to read even when printed out 24” x 36”. Please re-issue high resolution drawings that we can read, if possible.
1. OK.
12. The scope of work on RFP page 6 of 47, “FCU Plumbing” indicates “(See drawing 01.MP.100-D).” We do not find drwg 01.MP.100-D. Please provide.
A. See attachements
13. RFP Page 8 of 47 Submittals:
1. We understand As-Built drawings to mean clearly legible hard copy red-line mark-ups, rather than CAD files. Please confirm.
1. If electronic files are required, please confirm PDF’s are acceptable.
1. This understanding is correct. Electronic version of redlines are required and PDF is acceptable.
14. What is the thickness of steel pan/concrete decks?
1. Floor slab is 3.5” normal weight concrete on 3” deep, 18 gage galvanized composite floor deck (6.5” total thickness).
15. Are there post or pretensioned members?
1. No, floor slab is cast-in-place concrete.
16. What are the wall and floor fire ratings?
1. See Life Safety drawings provided.
17. We need to remove part of the ceiling to install the new fan coil unit. Will the VA move the equipment out of the AV room or do we need to protect the equipment in place?
1. Protect in place. Equipment can be relocated within the room.
18. Where can we keep our materials / gang boxes?
1. There is a contractor storage area in on the Service Level of the DAT, Building D which can be used.
19. We understand the chilled water piping, and electrical conduit can be surface mounted on walls, please confirm.
1. Yes, inside storage closets. No, inside AV control room.
20. We did not see isolation valves near the proposed chilled water tie-in point. Can we use Add-A-Valve? The link is http://www.jomarvalve.com/products/add-a-valve.html
1. Yes.
21. Please provide the chilled water mechanical drawings for the service level.
1. OK.
22. SOW calls for a new 3-ph, 480V circuit from Panel 01-EQHS9 to power the new FCU. When we looked at this on the site walk, there was discussion that there are three spares in the panel but, not all next to each other. So, existing circuits would have to be rearranged. There was further discussion that perhaps we should instead utilize Panel 01-EQLS9, 37, 39, 41. This is a 240V panel, located immediately adjacent to 01-EQHS9. If we were to take this approach, the new FCU circuit would 120V rather than 240V.
A. Please advise what the desired approach is.
B. If we should price a 240V circuit, please provide the ampacity of the new circuit required.
A. 15 A circuit will be sufficient. 208V 3-phase from Panel 01-EQLS9 is preferred since open slots are grouped together.
23. There was discussion during the site walk that VA would move the computer equipment to the north end of the room to allow working room for installation of the FCU. Please confirm.
1. No, contractor will move the equipment.
24. Is there glycol in the chilled water process piping?
1. No.
25. What material are the existing 2-inch chilled water pipes, copper, steel?
1. Steel. ASTM A53 Grade B, Schedule 40.
26. What is the distance between columns?
1. 30 feet
27. At what column is the mechanical room on the service level?
A. 01-C35
