END OF SECTION

RFI’s 08 Q’s and A’s

There appears to be a discrepancy between the written solicitation and verbal statements made during the second site visit, which could impact our bid pricing.

The solicitation explicitly states:

7. Contractor to replace Existing Pitched Roofs to Building 44 as shown and/or described in project drawing and specifications.

a. Building 44 Pitched Roofs to receive same roof style as Buildings 12 and 26 with Spanish Villa Style Terra Cotta Gold Flashed – Slurry Finish as shown and/or described in project drawing and specifications.

b. Contractor to completely remove Clay/Stone Tiles, inspect Sheathing and replace any damaged Sheathing. Install all new underlayment and raised Batons (VA provide the tiles).

However, during the second site visit, we were informed that the contractor would now be responsible for procuring the tiles. This contradicts the written solicitation and scope of work. Additionally, in response to RFI #51, the VA provided information on the type of tiles used on other buildings but did not confirm that the contractor is responsible for supplying them.

Furthermore, in a separate RFI, it was specifically noted that:

"During the 1st site visit, the VA was providing the terracotta tiles to replace the existing ones. At the 2nd site visit, we were informed that the contractor was responsible for the procurement."

VA Response: Yes, Contractor is responsible for the new tiles. Tiles to match building 12,14 and 29.

The response to this RFI was to refer to RFI #51, which, as stated above, does not confirm a change in responsibility.

The SOW has been updated to accommodate the tiles that the contractor will be responsible.
