1. Does the facility have sufficient vacant space to lump 2nd floor of Wings A & B together and 1st Floor Wings A& B together instead of 5 phases as shown on revised Amendment #2 Revised Drawings? 5 phases are needed.
Can the phasing be revised to 2 phases in lieu of 5? No
1. Amendment #3 specification 01 00 00 paragraph 1.9.G.1 indicates that the contractor is to assist the government in vacating the area of work….This will involve moving of furniture/equipment in other areas of the campus. Please identify where on campus the furniture/equipment is being moved to along with a furniture and equipment list a professional moving company can utilize to price the packing and moving. To limit confusion, VA shall relocate the items before work is to commence.
1. We understand and please confirm that the following Amendment #3 specification sections are not applicable to the project: 01 81 11 Sustainable Design Requirements, 06 06 60 Schedules for Plastic Fabrications, 09 22 16 Non-Structural Metal Framing, 09 67 23.30 Resin Mortar Flooring, 09 96 46 Intumescent Painting, 10 28 00 Toilet and Bath Accessories, 10 44 13 Fire Extinguisher Cabinets, 23 05 11 Common Work Results for HVAC, 23 36 00 Air Terminal Units, 26 27 26 Wiring Devics, 26 29 21 Enclosed Switches and Circuit Breakers, 28 13 00 Physical Access Control System. IF, identified, yes.
1. Exit light and wall mounted light fixture data sheets were provided by amendment #3, but not for the typical ceiling mounted light fixtures. Please provide. See attached
1. Please provide the Plumbing fixture schedule per Am#2 Q&A response.
See attached
1. The as-built plumbing drawings provided by amendment show additional bath tubs than shown on the amendment #2 revised plans. Are these additional tubs required to be replaced? As-built drawings are provided as a reference and are not to be used for quantity take off for the current space. All bathtubs within the project scope shall be replaced with showers.
1. Please confirm that water fountains are not required to be replaced as locations are not identified on the plans. Water fountains shall be replaced. Please see the attached plumbing schedule
1. Reference Am#3 Specification Section 01 00 00 paragraph 1.27 Construction Digital Images. Can the superintendent take photos with a camera phone and email them in lieu of a professional photographer on photo paper? Yes
1. Section 09 06 00 Schedule for Finishes contains products including window sills, flashings, doors, 3Form Decorative Resin Panels, coiling counter doors, epoxy mortar flooring, …which are not in scope for this project. We assume items not in scope are not applicable. Correct
1. Section 09 06 00 Schedule for Finishes pages 142 thru 146 are formatted incorrectly and is missing half the information presented (landscape versus portrait formatting issue). Please provide revised Section 09 06 00 so that all items are legible. See attached

1. New solid surface countertops are required per Amendment #2 Set 4 Q&A #3 response, but no plan details or specification was provided in Amendment #3. Please provide a plan view detail, a cut section plan detail to include whether backsplash is required and how high, the thickness of the solid surface material, whether Countertop supports are required, the front edge detail/profile of the countertop. There does not appear to be any solid surface countertops in this project. All sinks shall be wall hung.
1. New solid surface countertops are required per Amendment #2 Set 4 Q&A #3 response, but basis of design mfr/model/color was not provided in Amendment #3. Please provide a basis of design mfr/model & color of the solid surface countertops. There does not appear to be any solid surface countertops in this project. All sinks shall be wall hung.
1. Room finish schedules on AS100 and AS102 and specification section 09 06 00 Schedule for Finishes paragraph 2.6.B (spec page -142) require 12x12 wall tile while Elevation Plan Sheets AE100 thru AE102 require 12x24 wall tile. We assume either is acceptable unless clarified otherwise by amendment. Wall tile shall be 12 x 24. However, the tile shall go through the submittal process before any selections are made.

1. Since relocation of furniture and equipment were not originally part of the scope of work for this project, contractors did not itemize all the furniture and equipment seen at the site visit. Contractors did see hospital recliners, patient wardrobes, side tables, armchairs (hospital grade), beds, glass encased bulletin boards, glass framed artwork, wall mounted televisions, book cases, refrigerators, microwave machines, dvd players, kuerig coffee makers, coffee tables, side tables, couches, love seats. However, this list does not include whatever is located in the Multi-Purpose Rooms, Quiet Rooms and Patient Storage Rooms or the areas added by amendment #2 (halls and offices between the wings on each floor). What and how much furniture is located in each of those rooms? To limit confusion, VA shall relocate the items before work is to commence.
1. Amendment #2 and #3 adds moving furniture and equipment to the scope of work. Please provide a complete list of items including quantities to be moved by the contractor. . To limit confusion, VA shall relocate the items before work is to commence.
20. Optima Health Zone Square Tegular Tile specified in Specification Section 09 06 00 Schedule for Finishes is roughly 4x more expensive than Armstrong #1728 as required by Amendment #2 Q&A#1. We understand that Armstrong #1728 as specifically provided in Amendment #2 Questions and Answers #1 is the correct acoustical ceiling tile. If this is not a correct understanding, please clarify otherwise to all by amendment. Armstrong #1728 is the correct acoustic ceiling tile.
