About this file
This document is an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) that outlines the precautions required for a Class III construction/remodel project for the Mammography Site Prep project at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center.
The key requirements during construction include sealing unused doors, blocking and sealing air vents, placing dust mats, removing or isolating the HVAC system, implementing full containment barriers, maintaining negative air pressure, and following specific waste handling procedures. Upon project completion, the requirements include wiping work surfaces, handling waste, restoring the HVAC system, and scheduling a terminal clean. All control measures must be maintained until the work is fully completed, with any exceptions requiring Infection Prevention approval.
