SUBMITTALS
Submittal Procedures: Section 01 33 23, SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA, AND SAMPLES.
Submittal Drawings:
Show size, configuration, and fabrication and installation details.
Manufacturer's Literature and Data:
Description of each product.
Include schedule showing each door and frame requirements for openings.
Installation instructions.
Sustainable Construction Submittals:
Recycled Content: Identify postconsumer and preconsumer recycled content percentage by weight.
Qualifications: Substantiate qualifications comply with specifications.
Manufacturer with project experience list.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Manufacturer Qualifications:
Regularly manufactures specified products.
Manufactured specified products with satisfactory service on five similar installations for minimum five years.
DELIVERY
Fasten temporary steel spreaders across the bottom of each door frame before shipment.
Deliver products in manufacturer's original sealed packaging.
Mark packaging, legibly. Indicate manufacturer's name or brand, type, production run number, and manufacture date.
Before installation, return or dispose of products within distorted, damaged, or opened packaging.
STORAGE AND HANDLING
Store products indoors in dry, weathertight facility.Protect products from damage during handling and construction operations.
WARRANTY
Construction Warranty: FAR clause 52.24621, "Warranty of Construction."

MATERIALS
Sheet Steel: ASTM A1008/A1008M, coldrolled.
PRODUCTS - GENERAL
Basis of Design: Section 09 06 00, SCHEDULE FOR FINISHES.
Provide hollow frames from one manufacturer.
Sustainable Construction Requirements:
Steel Recycled Content: 30 percent total recycled content, minimum.
HOLLOW METAL FRAMES
Hollow Metal Frames: ANSI A250.8; Knockdown. See drawings for sizes and designs.
Interior Frames:
Level 2 Hollow Metal Doors: 1.3 mm (0.053 inch) thick.
Frame Materials:
Interior Frames: Sheet steel.
FABRICATION
Hardware Preparation: ANSI A250.8; for hardware specified in Section 08 71 00, DOOR HARDWARE.
Hollow Metal Frame Fabrication:
Frame Anchors:
Jamb anchors:
Place anchors on jambs:
Near top and bottom of each frame.
At intermediate points at maximum 600 mm (24 inches) spacing.
Form jamb anchors from steel minimum 1 mm (0.042 inch) thick.
Anchors for stud partitions: Provide tabs for securing anchor to sides of studs. Provide one of the following:
Welded type.
Lockin snapin type.
Provide special anchors where shown on drawings and where required to suit application.
FINISHES
Steel: ANSI A250.8; shop primed.
ACCESSORIES
Primers: ANSI A250.8.
Barrier Coating: ASTM D1187/D1187M.
Welding Materials: AWS D1.1/D1.1M, type to suit application.
Clips Connecting Members and Sleeves: Match door faces.
Fasteners: Galvanized steel .
Metal Framing: Steel drill screws.
Anchors: Galvanized steel.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 PREPARATION
A. Examine and verify substrate suitability for product installation.
0. Protect existing construction and completed work from damage.
Apply barrier coating to metal surfaces in contact with cementitious materials to minimum 0.7 mm (30 mils) dry film thickness.
3.2 INSTALLATION - GENERAL
0. Install products according to manufacturer's instructions and approved submittal drawings.
When manufacturer's instructions deviate from specifications, submit proposed resolution for Contracting Officer's Representative consideration.
3.3 FRAME INSTALLATION
1. Jamb Anchors:
Metal Framed Walls: Secure anchors to sides of studs with two fasteners through anchor tabs.
0. Touch up damaged factory finishes.
Repair painted surfaces with touch up primer.
3.4CLEANING
Clean exposed frame surfaces. Remove contaminants and stains.
3.4 PROTECTION
0. Protect frames from construction operations.
Remove protective materials immediately before acceptance.
Repair damage.
