About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a request for information (RFI) for a construction project to replace air handling units in Buildings 52 and 53 at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
The project involves replacing obsolete air handlers in the two buildings that are beyond their useful life and mostly date back 35 years. The RFI addresses questions on infection control procedures, structural drawings, structural steel requirements, roof curbs, piping sizes, equipment lead times, temporary units, work hours, and fire protection scope. Responses provide clarification on acceptable materials, confirmation of specific equipment sizes, clarification that areas outside the project scope must remain operational, and note the expected start date for demolition will be pending replacement equipment availability and an agreed construction schedule.
