About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) tracking log containing 56 questions and answers related to an EHRM NextGen WiFi Upgrades project at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, FL. The questions were submitted by various contractors including JB Doe's IT LLC, KEE Solutions, Panacea Group, TTS, and scDataCom between November 20-25, 2024.
The RFI responses clarify key technical requirements including: installation of Juniper AP43 access points, use of single CAT6A cables per AP, surgical scrape abatement for asbestos areas, HEPA cart requirements in sterile areas, blue cable color coding, and after-hours work scheduling to minimize hospital disruption. There are discrepancies addressed regarding the total number of APs to be installed (varying between 123-130 units in different documents). The VA specifies that OIT will provide 6A patch cables and handle connections from panel to switch, contractors must capture MAC addresses and serial numbers, and installation in restricted areas requires appropriate PPE and after-hours work. The responses also indicate that contractors need to run over 80% of cable in conduit or tray and coordinate with the COR for access to secure areas.
