About this file
This is Amendment 0002 to RFQ 36C24626Q0439, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 on April 8, 2026. The amendment provides responses to contractor questions received on April 7, 2026 regarding the procurement of Domiciliary furniture and related services for Building 148 at the VA Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia.
The amendment clarifies three key areas: (1) Removal and Disposal—the existing furniture to be removed is distinct from a related RFQ 36C24626Q0412 and consists of one-for-one swap items including beds, mattresses, wardrobes, existing lounge chairs, desks, and related items from patient rooms and lounges, with Pod D identified as having existing furniture requiring removal; (2) Carpentry Services—contractors must confirm wardrobe installation specifications with the basis of design or their recommended product, with the scope limited to removal of existing framed-in cabinetry; and (3) Project Scope—the procurement involves furnishing four pods (A, B, C, and D) with phased installations occurring sequentially as determined by VA, with no loading dock or service elevator available in the single-story building and potential scheduling adjustments required to minimize disruption to patient care. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.

Additional questions for RFQ 36C24626Q0439:
Regarding Removal/Disposal:
1. Can you please advise if the existing furniture to be removed/disposed of is the SAME list that was provided for RFQ 36C24626Q0412? I would not want the VA to be charged twice for the removal/disposal if it is included in 36C24626Q0412.
Response: It is not the same furniture. Behavioral Health furnishings will be within the patient rooms and lounges. This will feature beds, mattresses, wardrobes, and existing lounge chairs, desks, and etc.
2. If not, can you please provide a list of existing furniture that is to be removed/disposed for THIS RFQ? Is it only the items shown on page 4 of the “Domiciliary Project Binder” document? Is POD D the only pod that has existing furniture?
Response: The items will be a one-for-one swap for what is being bought on the contract. Page 4 shows an example of the items with the exclusion of the desk and file cabinet.
Regarding Carpentry Services for Wardrobes:
3. What exactly is required for the carpentry services? Are these to be anchored to wall? Is there caulking required? Please clarify.
Response: VA recommends contractors to confirm installation of the wardrobes with the basis of design and/or their recommended product. The existing cabinetry is framed in and will have to be removed. That is the extent of the carpentry services.
