About this file

This document is an architectural plan for replacing an MRI 1.5T system at the Durham VA Health Care System. The 65% design development drawing includes detailed plans for demolition and new work in the MRI suite, featuring comprehensive architectural details for walls, windows, doors, and RF shielding. The equipment schedule lists four key components to be supplied and installed by the VA contractor: an MRI Imaging Machine (Siemens Magnetom Sola), MRI Electronics Cabinet, MRI SEP Cabinet, and MRI UPS with Battery. The architectural plans specify precise technical requirements for RF shielding, including modular copper shielding wall panels, floor systems, and ceiling paneling, with detailed specifications for construction materials, insulation, and installation methods. The project involves extensive modifications to the existing MRI room, including removing existing walls, flooring, and infrastructure, and installing new radio-frequency shielded components to accommodate the new medical imaging equipment.
