Most of these materials would still have been Buy American compliant as the tariffs would increase pricing on all steel or wood materials, regardless of origin.
RESPONSE: This is a Firm Fixed Priced contract, however, the government may consider making an equitable adjustment to the contract to compensate the contractor following award, in the event of an increase in material costs, provided that the contractor provides sufficient documentary evidence that the cost of materials increased between the bid date and contract award date.

RESPONSE:
Per Finish Schedule on AE603, and Finish Plan 1Z-208 to be LVT not SZV#3. 1Z-206 and 1Z-207 floor finish to follow Finish Schedule. 1Z208 shall be as shown on AE604 (LVT #1, 2,3). Lack of color is because there is no flooring pattern. 1Z-206 and 1Z-207 floor finish to follow Finish Schedule.

1Z-238 is mislabeled. Both locations on AE604 are Corridors. Floor finish is LVT.
38. Corridor 2Z-C1 on AE605 shows patterned flooring stopping at a column point partway down the corridor. The corridor continues to a door (C1C) approx. 20’ further according to AE112. Does the additional area (Approx. 20’) receive pattern flooring or not? please clarify.

How much time will be allotted to the contractor for phase one work, and once phase one is completed how long will it take the Owner to move out of the existing building prior to the contractor being given the area to renovate? Will the time between phases which is out of control of the Contractor become part of the 630-calendar day duration of this project?
Contractor determines length of each phase. There are no personnel moves into Phase 1 spaces that are expected to prevent start of Phase 2. However, the three rooms being renovated in 1Z (should be considered as a Phase 1A) are to be renovated after their contents are moved to new rooms 1Z-205 and 1Z-207. It is expected to take no more than 7 days to move these contents into the new space (see GI004 General Phasing Notes). The VA is willing to consider extending contract completion date if delays are due to the VA.
51. During shut downs of the existing system during the construction will the Contractor need to provide a fire watch during these shut downs?
RESPONSE: Shut downs should be discussed and reviewed two weeks in advance with the Safety Office. Any other shut down requirements are on a case by case basis. The draining and filling of the sprinkler system shall only be done by our in-house tradesmen.
