About this file
This document includes a request for information related to a federal construction project and the associated pre-solicitation notice for the project opportunity. The request for information pertains to setting structural steel for a Department of Veterans Affairs hospital project and seeks confirmation that work must be done on nights and weekends to avoid occupying the first floor work area. The pre-solicitation notice provides details about the opportunity to construct a new hospice unit at the Loch Raven Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Key details include that the project is reserved as a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, with a budget between $10-20 million. The notice specifies tentative dates for issuing the invitation, bid opening, and completion, and provides points of contact for any questions.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Date Submitted: _____08/19/20______________________ RFI # ________49_______
Reference/Subject: _______ Schedule for Setting Steel _________
Spec. Section No. / Title: _______________________________ Page / Art. / Para.: _________________________
Drawing No.: ___ A101___________ Plan/Detail/Schedule: ____Note 1___
Request (Explain your request in detail here):
"All work being done to first floor to be completed on nights (After Hours) and weekends only and coordinated with the COR. First floor shall remain occupied during the entirety of construction. All work spaces shall be cleaned and usable by staff at the start of each working day unless otherwise coordinated with the COR" For safety reasons, it is not allowable to set structural steel on the second floor while there are people working on the 1st floor below. Is it possible to cordon off 2-3 bays on the floor below while we set the structural steel above in those bays or do we need to install all the structural steel on off hours/weekends?
