9. Regarding Floor Leveler, please confirm Floor Leveler is not required for the entire floor for both Floors, it’s entirely up to the discretion of the Flooring Contractor.

VA Response: Since this project involves full removal of the interior partition walls on both floors, as described in the Demolition Floor Plan Drawings, floor leveler will be required to fill all of the depressions left by the demolished walls. It is anticipated that ceramic tile floor removal in the existing restrooms, as described in the Demolition Floor Plans, will also create an uneven floor situation. These areas will need floor leveler as well. The approximate floor SF of these two situations amounts to approx. 7,500 SF of floor leveler for the 2 floors combined. Interior Wall amount: 5,018 LF or 2,509 of trough (assuming 6" wide).

This is a case-by-case basis and only in specific areas where the concrete. floor condition contains minor depressions and minimal concrete floor damage ie. small holes, less than 4" diameter., minor floor cracks and abrasions, and minimal spalling of aggregate at the new surface. VA COR to confirm this approach.

28. Based on our walkthrough and inspection of the 1st & 2nd floor of building 58 it is our recommendation that the floor doesn’t need to be leveled. The tolerance for the installed material (VCT) is 1/8” over 4 feet and the tolerance for the specified material (LVT & Quartz Tile) is ¼” over 10 feet. The existing material is securely bonded to the substrate leading me to believe that the floor will be well within tolerance for the specified material.
