Questions and Answers

1.) After reviewing the SOW I would respectfully request a Site Visit. To provide a fair and accurate quote I would need to physically view all involved dampers due to the Project Scope - General (Page 4) stating that there are ten (10) deficiencies, also stated in Attachment C Action Plan Summary (Page 9-10). Then under Attachment A (Page 7) the listed total deficiencies in Phase 2 add up to a total of fifteen (15), the addition of five (5) additional deficiencies. Will the Medical Center approve the request for a site visit? VAPHS can accommodate and encourages a prewalk to ensure all bidders have a full understanding of the areas they will be working.

2.) I would also request that an ICRA Representative be present during the Site Visit to address any ICRA related concerns. VPHS Projects can coordinate to have Infectious Prevention rep participate in prewalk.

3.) Will the VAPHS hire Johnson Controls directly? Or will the JCI subcontractor cost be carried by the contractor? The fire alarm system at UD is a JCI System, hence the requirement for vendor to “coordinate and contract with JCI Fire/ JCI Controls Inc. for all building integration and control wiring for Fire Monitoring System and BMS”, inclusive of Commissioning and testing of the dampers.
