Project #402-14-567 Electrical Distribution System Upgrade
1. Please confirm if there are any known hazardous materials on this project?
Asbestos is present on campus and documents in the field with a red letter A, and tracked on drawings in engineering. Drawings are available upon request. It is not anticipated that hazardous materials will be encountered through the course of this project. Should hazardous materials be encountered please follow the spec and stop working in the area and contact the COR for additional direction.
2. Please confirm if Federal, State and local taxes should be included in proposals?
Contracting will provide a tax exemption number to the successful offeror.
3. Please confirm if this project will require an Federal, State, or local permits?
No permit requirement is known at this time.
4. The short circuit rating on the one-line shows 40kAIC and the specification states “Short circuit ratings shall not be less than 1000 MVA.” We would like to know which takes precedence because it determines which product line we will use.
The short circuit rating of 40kA per the one-line is acceptable.
5. The one-line shows 50/51 protocol on the feeders but the specification is more elaborate in section 26 13 13 – 20. Again, we are just curious which takes precedence.
Furnish relays with functionality as noted in section 26 13 13 -20 and as depicted on the one -lines
6. On page 688 of 1004 in 26 13 13 – 46 the specification calls for utility metering cubicles. The one-line does not depict these. We need to confirm if they are needed and if so, should they be housed in the same building structure as the switchgear?
The switchgear should include CMP utility metering cubicles, per the specification. The cubicles shall be housed within the same building structure as the switchgear.
7. Also on page 688 the battery system is described. Should this be housed in the building structure as well?
The battery system should be included within the switchgear building structure.
