About this file
This is a URS Post-Retired Verification Form for the Jordan School District in Utah, used to verify employment eligibility for individuals who have retired from the Utah Retirement Systems (URS). The form is required from independent contractors and 1099 employees prior to beginning work with Jordan School District on contract opportunities, including the Emergency Power to IT Circuits project at multiple district facilities. Contractors must disclose whether they have retired from URS and, if so, must acknowledge restrictions on reemployment and the requirement to complete a Post-Retirement Employment form (Form RTRT-27A) with URS's Retirement Benefits Department before commencing work. The form must be submitted to the Accounting Department along with a completed W-9.
Contractors who are URS retirees and fail to report reemployment to URS in compliance with Title 49 of the Utah Code are subject to repayment of any overpayment benefits received. Reemployment restrictions apply to work performed as a paid employee through payroll or as an independent contractor paid through accounting if the retiree is listed as the contractor, owner, partner, or principal. Prospective bidders must contact URS's Retirement Benefits Department at 801-366-7770 prior to starting work to ensure compliance with state regulations and avoid financial liability.
