About this file

This is a familiarization exhibit document related to the Kenton County Airport Board's Airport Security Access and IDMS Replacement Consultant request for proposals. The document provides a comprehensive overview of the physical layout and organizational structure of the Main Terminal (originally Terminal 3) and Concourse B at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), which were constructed between 1992 and 1994. The buildings are organized into five distinct areas (Areas 1-5) plus additional zones including the AGTS Level, CONRAC, GTC East, and GTC West, with the Main Terminal containing multiple floor levels (Ticketing Mezzanine, Basement/AGTS Level, Boarding Level, Bag Claim Level, Office Level, and Mezzanine Level) and Concourse B featuring 76 structural columns sequentially numbered from west to east. The document establishes a systematic door numbering convention that reflects building location, level, area, and specific door number to facilitate wayfinding and coordination across the facility. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1:00 pm at CVG Centre Administrative Offices in Erlanger, Kentucky, with proposals due by Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Questions must be submitted by March 26, 2026, at 11:59 pm, with answers posted by March 30, 2026, at 11:59 pm.

The document serves as an informational resource for prospective consultants bidding on the Airport Security Access and IDMS Replacement project, enabling them to understand the physical infrastructure and spatial organization of the terminal facilities. This familiarization material is essential for consultants developing proposals that address security access systems and identity management system replacements across the Main Terminal and Concourse B. No pricing information, set-asides, or funding amounts are specified in this exhibit document.

Concourse B and Main Terminal Familiarization

History

• The Main Terminal (Originally Terminal 3) and Concourse B were constructed in the 1992-1994 range.

• The AGTS Train tunnel and A Hub were also done at this time

• Concourse A was built in the 1970’s.

• The massive scope of the project required an organized approach as the building were constructed.

How Did They Organize The Building?

Main Terminal and Concourse B

• The buildings were divided into “areas” as the building came up out of the ground. That way workers and material deliveries were organized.

• The buildings are also divided by floor.

• This led to the door numbers in each area reflecting where you were in the building. These areas were also incorporated into the fire alarm system.

Concourse B

• In addition to the areas, the concourse has 76 structural columns.

• Column #1 starts at the west end of the building and sequentially increases as you head east.
