About this file

This Request for Quote (RFQ) 246-26-Q-0004 is for the Generator Gas Line Replacement project at the Haskell Indian Health Center in Lawrence, Kansas. The solicitation (IHS1520021) has been amended to extend the closing date to February 2, 2026, and includes responses to three Request for Information (RFI) questions. Key details include clarifications about gas line regulators, pressure settings, and potential meter modifications. The project involves installing multiple regulators for different building systems, including the Maintenance Shop Heater, RTUs, Wellness Center, Clinic hot water tank, and Generator. The Indian Health Service (IHS) has indicated that any latent defects materially different from contract specifications will require negotiated equitable adjustments, and they will potentially issue modifications if utility meter connections cannot be reused as initially anticipated.

RFQ: 246-26-Q-0004 Haskell Indian Health Center Generator Gas line Replacement.

IHS1520021.

Closes: 02/02/2026

Amendment#3: Additional RFI and Extension#2

The combined synopsis solicitation for commercial services, IHS1520021, Generator gas line replacement for Haskell Indian Health Center, Lawrence, KS, is amended to submit question and answers. The following three (3) questions have been submitted.

Answers are in Red following each question.

1. RFQ 246-26-Q-0004 Haskell Indian Health Center Generator Gas line Replacement. IHS1520021. Closing date has been extended to Monday, February 02, 2026.

2. In response to questions concerning RFI #14 Any latent defects materially different than contract indications will require a request for equitable adjustment that will be negotiated with Indian Health Service.

3. In response to questions concerning RFI #10 & 15, the meter size or flow in CFM should not affect the scope of this project. The pressure from the new meter will be set at 2 pounds versus the existing ¼ pound. The downstream regulation should be based on maximum BTU usage on units beyond the point of regulation, going from 2 pounds to ¼ pounds. These usages have been given in the Word document "Gas consumption estimation from Jason totals". To go over the expected regulation points again, there should be a regulator placed somewhere in the line to the Maintenance Shop Heater, a regulator in the line on the roof that services all of the RTUs, a regulator at the secondary gas meter servicing the Wellness Center, a regulator in the Mechanical Room for the Clinic side hot water tank, and a regulator on the Generator at the end of the new 3" line. As for the flange size and type at the main utility meter, we can only speculate at this point that we can reuse this portion and that the utility company will work with the chosen contractor as they stated during the site visit. If this does not turn out to be the case, IHS will issue a modification to retrofit the inlet side or our system.

No other changes.
