CLARIFICATIONS/QUESTIONS
QUESTION: In Rack Frame 4 and the Kitchen Office, are the areas close enough to run one four channel amplifier from one location to handle all of the associated endpoints from both racks?
ANSWER: The Kitchen Office will require localized amplification and zone control, separate from Rack Frame 4 distribution. Zone 17 will be split into two zones in forthcoming revision documentation. This will allow for separate volume control and announcements in the Cafeteria area of the building.
QUESTION: Our surface mounted loudspeakers come in white or black. Which color do you prefer?
ANSWER: Provide in white to match surrounding finishes.
QUESTION: Is the console station going to be set up for all-call only or does it need to be able to call out separately to different zones?
ANSWER: Console should be able to call individual zones as well as all-call and preset groups. Final configuration to be coordinated with BSD.
QUESTION: Does the system need to perform bell scheduling?
ANSWER: Yes
QUESTION: The drawings show options in the legend on page 1 shows that the speakers will be marked with an E,X,R,or F for existing to remain, existing to be removed, existing to be replaced, or future. I do not see any of those markings on the drawings themselves. Does this mean that all speakers and horns listed on the drawings are sites that are to be replaced or new sites? If these markings are supposed to be on the drawings can I have a copy of the drawings that shows them so we know how many new speakers to put in the BOM?
ANSWER: Those are standard symbols in the legends sheet. The scope notes hopefully add clarity – the intent is for all speakers to be replaced in all locations and for old speakers to be demolished, existing wire pulled and all new pink cabling to the new speakers. The locations shown on drawings are from field observations and detailed takeoffs are the responsibility of bidders. Contractor is responsible to directly observe each area and provide loudspeakers to replace all existing.
QUESTION: What are the plans, if any, for the future of this system. If we must go back and put in additional amplifiers in the future, we will need to upgrade from a small controller to our larger controller. Do you want me to quote the small or large controller based on the future plans for the system?
ANSWER: Provide controller part number as specified in bid documents.
